Print Finishing Techniques
In addition to the printing itself, special effects can be added to the labels, which give the packaging an exclusive and more striking look. The most commonly used techniques are dry stamp, foil stamping and UV varnish, and they are especially popular with luxury packaging for alcoholic beverages - wine and beer labels, labels for spirits such as whiskey, cognac, gin, vodka, liqueur, tequila and brandy, but also for luxury cosmetic products. They can also be applied to any other product whose brand wants to make a strong impression.
If you want to have some of these effects on your packaging, I will provide you with expert suggestions for their ideal positioning and technically prepare the files for realization in the printing house.

Dry Stamp
Dry stamp is a technique of embossing a design into paper or cardboard without using ink or foil, which results in a relief effect. This technique is often used to add a refined and luxurious look to printed materials.
Characteristics of dry stamp:
Embossing — the design is raised above the surface of the paper.
Debossing — the design is pressed below the surface of the paper.
No ink or foil — only pressure is applied using a specially crafted die.
Visual effect — gives 3D dimensionality and premium look.
Best effect on thicker paper — softer and thicker papers or special art papers give the most pronounced effect.
Foil stamping or foil blocking is a printing technique in which a metallic or pigmented foil is transferred to the surface of the paper using a heated die and pressure. This technique gives a reflective glossy or matte effect and is used for luxury and premium materials.
Characteristics of foil stamping:
Glossy or matte effect — most common in gold, silver, copper and various other colors.
High precision — enables sharp details and fine lines.
Visual premium experience — the foil reflects light, giving an elegant look.
Can be combined with embossing for added dimension.

UV Varnish
UV varnish or UV coating is a surface finishing technique in which a transparent varnish is applied to certain parts of the printed surface and dried using ultraviolet (UV) light. This technique is used to emphasize slightly raised design elements and add a premium visual and tactile effect.
Characteristics of UV varnish:
Glossy or matte effect — can be high gloss or matte finish.
Tactile and visual feeling — parts with UV varnish are smoother and reflect light.
Contrast with matte paper — especially effective on matte lamination.
Abrasion protection — adds a layer of resistance to scratches and moisture.
